Sama Al Wasmi comes with years of experience working in luxury retail on a global scale. Sama has worked in all aspects of the fashion industry for the last 15 years, from PR to Buying to Fashion Direction for regional retailers and has bought for 160 international brands from Chloe, Dries Van Notes, Alexander Mcqueen, Max-Mara Group, The Row, Stella Mcartney, Delpozo, and many more. She has consulted for several brands and retailers locally and regionally. She also writes for Marie Claire Arabia, the owner of a successful slow fashion clothing line Dear Nin and a mom.
Launched by Tasneem Roowala and Khaled Al-Ramly, partners in life as well as their passion project that is HIND, the idea for their e-boutique began out of a love for craftsmanship, something that doesn't really come from the high-street, and definitely not something you find in fast fashion. Clothing that is handmade, versatile, long lasting, and can be used in different settings and weathers, is the antithesis of what you find in malls and most high-streets, as they can often run against the need to make sure the customer buys on a monthly, if not weekly, basis. Alternatively, the global mega-labels were no better as an option, as they are not focused on quality that lasts, or craftsmanship, but really just growth off their brand-name and fulfilling the "ego" that comes with the hand-over of the branded shopping bag and wearing the latest collection.
